Professor Paul Waako

Prof. Paul Waako is a Clinical Pharmacologist with a Ph.D. in Pharmacology from the University of Cape Town, South Africa, MSc. Pharmacology and Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from Makerere University, Uganda. Currently, he is a professor of Pharmacology and Therapeutics and Vice Chancellor of Busitema University. His areas of research interests are access to medicines, pharmacovigilance, and natural products research towards drug discovery and herbal medicines. He has been a country coordinator and host of many government and donor-funded projects related to drugs like the Regional Technical Resource Centre for Training and Research on Medicines, Makerere University (2004 -2010), Regional course on Medicines and Therapeutics committees in 2007, Clinical Pharmacology sub- program under SIDA/SAREC support to Makerere University 2004 -2012.
