Associate Prof. Milton Musaba and Dr. Samuel Baker Obakiro join the Africa Research Excellence Fund (AREF) Leadership Fellowship
Following a competitive selection process, the two researchers were awarded a one year fellowship by the MRC - AREF leadership Programme. The two fellows were the only Ugandans selected in the second cohort that had its initiation meeting from 28th October to 3rd November 2023 at the Fairway Hotel in Johannesburg. The goal of this programme is to build the next generation of Researchers with Leadership competences to contribute to the realization of the Africa Research agenda and SDG 3 (Good health and wellbeing).
Assoc. Prof. Milton is the Head of Obstetrics and Gynecology Department and the Team leader of the Maternal and Child Health Research Group. Dr. Obakiro is the Head of Pharmacology and Therapeutics department and the Center Leader for the Natural Products Research and Innovation Center.
