About NaPRiC

NaPRIC stands for Natural Products and Research Innovation Center, at faculty of Health Sciences- Mbale Campus, Busitema University,  producing the high value scientifically validated natural products for commercialization. The center was started in 2020, at the peak of COVID-19 pandemic when there was a desperate need for therapeutics to manage the COVID-19 patients. This led to the development of the first unique natural therapeutic (TAZCOV syrup) by the researchers- headed by the Principal Investigator (PI), Samuel Baker Obakiro (PhD.), head of department (Pharmacology) at the faculty of health sciences, Busitema University- Mbale Campus.
